Healthy Relationships Week February 8-12th 2016

  • There is nothing more important to an Alpha Chi than #healthyAXOlove! This year our sisters particpated in Healthy Relationships Week where we reached out to students across the IUPUI campus to learn what love is to them and worked to promote what love should be.
Denim Day
  • On April 27th 2016, Alpha Chi Omega placed their mark on Taylor Courtyard by giving the the idea of wearing jeans a whole new purpose. Our sisters covered the lawn in all sorts of denim--jackets, skirts, and jeans to raise awareness of rape and sexaul assault. By promoting Denim Day, we were able to take a stand and show there is never an excuse.
Collections For Coburn
  • The Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity is devoted to enriching the lives of members through opportunities of friendship, leadership, learning and service. Stephanie Elliot, Vice President of Philanthropy, works closely with nearby shelters that provide services for domestic violence survivors by raising monetary donations and personal care items for women. Spring semester 2016, Alpha Chi Omega raised awareness and collected donations for Coburn Place, which is the largest transitional housing program in Indiana for individuals who have been affected by domestic violence. During the last week of April, IUPUI students were encouraged to bring in items on the Coburn Place wish list. Over 20 products and $156.17 were collected to help these women.
Love is Sweet
  • October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and in order to spread the message of our shared passion, Vice President of Philanthropy, Stephanie Elliot organized a bake sale called “Love is Sweet.” Our sisters worked hard preparing cookies, brownies, cake pops, and more delicious treats to raise money for domestic violence awareness. With our baked goods, we handed out recipe cards sharing what a healthy relationship is made of—hopeful that it made the students on our campus think twice about their personal relationships and loved ones. In total, we raised $802.06 to benefit Coburn Place Safe Haven. We appreciate all of our sisters’ dedication and hard work for being able to host such a successful event.
